5 Easiest Ways To Remove Android Lock Screen From iPhone or iPod Touch Empty 5 Easiest Ways To Remove Android Lock Screen From iPhone or iPod Touch

Previously I covered how to get the famous Android Lock screen on your iPod Touch or iPhone. It really looks cool but the problem arises when you forget your lock pattern. There have been hundreds of such cases where you are locked out of your own iPod Touch because you forgot the lock pattern and there’s no simple way of uninstalling or removing the app.

The Android Lock app is available on Cydia which means you need to have a jailbroken iPod Touch to install it in the first place. Once you have the app and you screw up then you want to remove it. Here are 5 simple ways of doing that. I will start with the most easy one. I am sure one of these ways would definitely work for you.
1. Doing hard reboot:

It couldn’t be any more simpler. All you have to do is turn off your iPod Touch and then boot it again. If you had the Android Lock before rebooting then it will simply disappear after rebooting. If you had the normal iPod Touch lock enabled then that will still appear and you can log into your iPod Touch then go to the settings and turn off Android Lock.

Remember that if you turn on Android lock again then it will still carry the old pattern. This technique has worked on iPod Touches with older iOS versions (for iOS < 4.0) but I am not sure whether it works on the newer iOS versions too.

This applies to both iPhone and iPod Touch.
2. Reboot and Jailbreak

If you do not have a tethered jailbreak on your iPhone or iPod Touch then it means you will have to jailbreak every time you do a hard reboot. This annoys everyone but in this case when you forgot your Android lock pattern, this is an advantage! Simply reboot your iDevice and jailbreak it using any of the popular jailbreaking tools and you will get rid of Android Lock app!

But in case you have a tethered jailbreak then you will have to risk updating your iOS and then trying to jailbreak again. Take note that the update may prevent you from jailbreaking again and may also remove Cydia apps from your iDevice.
3. Try Pressing your iPhone/iPod Touch Volume key

Could not get any simpler. Press the volume key of your iPhone or iPod Touch and keep pressing until you see your Home Screen. This shouldn’t be more then 20-30seconds so if you still do not see Home screen after that then this method does not work for you. Try the remaining ones Smile
4. Breaking into your iPod Touch during a phone call

Unfortunately this technique only applies to iPhone users since you cannot call your iPod Touch. All you have to do is:

Call your iPhone with the Android lock still on.
Receive the call and then press home button to minimize the call screen.
Reopen the call screen and then end the call and you will be taken to the home screen from where you can navigate to the settings and disable Android Lock!

5. Remove Android Lock through SSH

This is by far the most comprehensive way of removing Android Lock from your iPhone or iPod Touch. This tutorial does not explain what SSH is and how to use it. I am assuming that you have a SSH client installed on your PC or Mac and you remember your iDevice’s SSH password (The default SSH password is ‘alpine’ so if you haven’t changed the password then try this).

Connect your iPhone/iPod Touch to a Wi-Fi network and connect your PC/Mac to the same network.
Look up your Wi-Fi settings and note down the IP address assigned to your iPhone/iPod Touch.
Now open SSH client on your PC or Mac and specify the following values against each field:

Connect To: IP Address of your iPhone or iPod Touch
User Name: root
Port: 22
Directory: /var/mobile/Library/Preferences

Now connect to your iDevice and you will be taken to the Preferences folder.
Copy the file named com.zmaster.plist from the Preferences folder onto your local drive.
This file contains the lock pattern of your Android Lock. If you’re on a PC then you will need a .plist editor for your PC. Look it up or try opening the file in a simple Text Editor.
The lockPattern variable contains the lock pattern. Double click it and edit it to your own choice OR copy the pattern. This is how the numbers in the pattern are related to the dots in the Android Lock:

image
(Update: Dot 0 is now dot 1 which means the numbering of the dots start from 0 and goes all the way to 9)
You can see that every dot has a number and the numbers start from 0 which is the top left dot and move on to the last one which is 8. Now if “01” is written in the field then it means a pattern that connects dot 0 with dot 1 as shown by the red arrow. You can make up the rest of the pattern Smile

Once you edit or save the passcode then save the file and move it back into your iPhone’s or iPod Touch’s Preferences folder through the SSH client and try the pattern now which should work.
